Head of the Five Tiger Generals of Shu and sworn brother to Liu Bei and Zhang Fei.
Initially a fugitive, Guan Yu joined Liu Bei fighting the Yellow Turban rebels.
Guan Yu briefly surrendered to Cao Cao after Liu Bei was defeated in battle. In the Battle of Baima, Guan Yu killed Yuan Shao's general Yan Liang. He later rejoined Liu Bei, rejecting all of Cao Cao's gifts.
After the Battle of Chibi, Guan Yu governed Jing province. He was eventually captured and executed by Sun Quan's Lu Meng.
